Disaster Management and Planning
About

The Disaster Management and Prevention Department assists in planning and implementing of programs to prevent and/or mitigate disastrous events within the District. In the event of a disaster, the Department works with other District departments and various agencies to administer relief to communities.

Major activities:

  • 1. Administers preventative education programs within communities

    • - Facilitate the formation of volunteer programs that assist in awareness training

  • 2. Offers post-disaster counseling services

  • 3. Supplies post disaster relief products (e.g. bedding, toiletries, etc.)

  • 4. Advises the District on physical planning development to ensure areas are not disaster prone
