A Four (4) member team led by the former Presiding Member of the Assembly, Hon. Edwin Philips paid a courtesy call on the Mayor to update him on the
activities of the Sekondi-Takoradi/Plymouth Link. The Mayor was briefed on the activities of the “Operation Hernia” which is an initiative born out of
the Sekondi-Takoradi Plymouth Sister-City Relationships as well as the plans towards the anniversary celebration of the establishment of relationship.
The link has been coordinating and implementing various interventions from the sister-city relationship of Sekondi-Takoradi and Plymouth City in England.
The health sector interventions under the relationship is widely dominated by the “Operation Hernia” programme which has helped in operating many Ghanaians
with hernia problems. The education sector also has promoted exchange programmes among some schools in the two cities.
Other members of the visiting team were Dr. Bernard Boateng, Dr. Chris Oppong and Kingsley Mensah.
