The Statistics Department is one of the decentralized departments of the Assembly mandated with the function crucial for effective planning, provision and management of statistical data at the local level.
This report covers the period from 1st January – 31st December 2021 and detailed out activities and programmes carried.
MANDATE/ CORE DUTIES
To collect, compile, store and analyze data based on standardized formats.
Disseminate and publish statistical data based on guidelines .
To ensure that statistics is produced to meet international standards.
Prepare and submit annual report of the operations to the Assembly.
Provide inputs for the preparation of the Composite Annual Budget.
Generate the data requirements of the Assembly on all departments for planning activities of the District.
Coordinate statistical activities and archiving of statistics to serve as a repository of statistical data in the District.
Provide timely data for incorporation into district, regional and national level statistical analyses.
Promote statistical literacy and research.
Monitor statistical enquires/ surveys within the District.
Advise the District Assemblies on all matters relating to statistics.
