The Mayor of Sekondi-Takoradi, Hon. Abdul-Mumin Issah traveled to the Boston City in the United States of America as part of the efforts
to strengthen the sister-city relationship between the two (2) cities. The Boston Sekondi-Takoradi (BOSETA) relationship was established
through the efforts of former President of the Boston City Council, Councilor Charles Yancey, Mr. Kofi Essien, who was working with Boston
Trust Bank and Col. Kaku Korsah, then the Mayor of Sekondi-Takoradi.
The formal agreement for the relationship was signed on Friday, 19th October 2001 at a ceremony witnessed by a delegation from Sekondi-Takoradi led by then Mayor, Kwesi Nkrumah.
Whilst in Boston for the three-day official visit, Hon. Abdul-Mumin Issah paid a courtesy call on his counterpart, Michelle Wu and also participated in the flag raising ceremony
of the Ghanaian community to commemorate Ghana’s independence.
