Women Icons Hold Exhibition In Sekondi-Takoradi

In a bid to promote craftiness of women in entrepreneurial businesses, the Western Regional edition of women icons exhibition 2023 has been held at the forecourt of the Takoradi Mall. The 3-day programme sought to bring together women entrepreneurs and businesses to network and promote their businesses. Speaking at the exhibition opening, the mayor of Sekondi-Takoradi, Hon. Abdul-Mumin Issah admitted that, the creativity of women has always been a springboard for them to succeed with minimum support. He observed that women remained outstanding in entrepreneurship and therefore called for support to women entrepreneurs to resource them for social advancement to reflect the national development. He pledged government’s commitment to providing women entrepreneurs with the needed support and enabling environment to empower them thrive.

He indicated that through the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, government’s support for women entrepreneurs have been stepped, with the continuation of the She-trade programmes from the International Trade Center which intends to expand the project to ensure that many women benefit from it. He prevailed upon women in entrepreneurship to collaborate with one another and share information of opportunities for others to also benefit. He said by so doing, a formidable force of women in business would be growing for self-development. Hon. Issah pointed out that there was the need to capitalize on the avenue offered by the exhibition to network for the collective benefits of all. He expressed optimism that the effective marketing terminal would be a basin for the enhancement of creativity, expansion of businesses as well as inure to the production of greater women entrepreneurs. The programme was graced by chiefs, queen mothers, young entrepreneurs and personnel from Ghana Export Promotion Authority. END
