The first private initiated museum in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis, Bisa Aberewa has been reopened to the public. the three - story facility which was initiated by Mr.kwaw Ansah was formally opened in 2020 by the first lady, H. E. Rebecca Akufo-Addo but had to be closed for some internal works to be completed.
The reopening ceremony was held on Saturday, November 27,2021 with the chairman of National House of Chiefs, Ogyeahohoo Yaw Gyebi IIchairing the occasion. Highlights of the historic event was the unveiling ofgiant statues of Asebu Amenfi, the mythical legend of the Mfantse people, NanaYaa Asantewaa, the Ashanti heroine and the brave Sandema Warriors of NorthernGhana.
An international dimension of the reopening ceremony was astage on the tragic spectacle happened in the United States of America where apolice officer knelt on the neck of George Floyd, an African American in 2020.The story was told in dance, drama and poetry set to music composed by Mr. KwawAnsah, founder of the Museum.
Addressing the ceremony, the Mayor of Sekondi-Takoradi, HonAbdul-Mumin Issah thanked the founder of the Museum for his vision and decisionto site the edifice in the Metropolis. He underscores the importance of museumsin the socio-economic development of any city or country. He therefore assuredthe board and management of the Museum of the Assembly's commitment to ensurethat the facility thrives.
