The new Mayor of Sekondi-Takoradi, Hon. Frederick Faustinus Faidoo, today, Thursday, April 24, 2025, held his first management meeting with the leadership of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA), signalling the beginning of a new era of governance in the Western Region's capital.

The meeting, held at the Assembly’s conference room, brought together the heads of departments and units under the Assembly to brief the new Mayor on their core mandates, ongoing programmes and projects, operational challenges, and strategic priorities for the metropolis.

In his opening remarks, Hon. Faidoo expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and pledged his commitment to open and inclusive leadership, teamwork, and development-focused governance. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation in addressing the city’s pressing issues, including sanitation and urban mobility.

“I believe in the collective strength of this management team. Together, we can transform Sekondi-Takoradi into a more vibrant city,” the Mayor stated.

The session also served as a symbolic moment of transition, marking the final management meeting for the outgoing Metropolitan Coordinating Director, Mr. Innocent Haligah. Mr. Haligah officially handed over responsibilities to Ing. M. Dzisi, who will serve in an acting capacity as Coordinating Director until a substantive appointment is made.

The meeting ended on a note of optimism and renewed commitment to the development agenda of the metropolis.
