The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis registered 5,303 candidates, comprising 2,633 males and 2670 females, for the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) at 18 examination centres. In all, 84 public and 46 private schools registered for the examination, with 186 invigilators across all the centres. The Metro Director of Education, Mr. Edmound Aggrey Forson, in the absence of the Metropolitan Chief Executive and the Coordinating Director for official duty outside the Metropolis, led a team of officers to visit some of the examination centres as part of measures to monitor and ensure incident-free exams. At the time of visits, the team was impressed with the level of comportment of candidates, invigilators, supervisors and security personnel assigned to all the centres.
