MCE INTERACTS WITH THE STAFF AT A MAIDEN DURBAR
by STMA / April 29th, 2025 /

The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA), Hon. Fredrick Faustinaus Faidoo, has engaged the Assembly staff at a durbar held in his honour. The durbar, held at the Assembly's main office in Sekondi, brought together staff from all departments and units to formally welcome the new Mayor and interact to find solutions that would enhance productivity and create a more supportive working environment.

Hon. Faidoo assured staff of his commitment to fostering close collaboration and providing the necessary amenities to make their workplace experience comfortable and motivating. He emphasized that since staff spend a significant amount of time at the office, management must ensure that basic office needs are provided to create a conducive work atmosphere. He pledged to prioritize this effort.

The Acting Metropolitan Coordinating Director, Ing. Michael Dzisi, informed the staff of management’s intention to implement a scheduled staff reshuffle and encouraged all to welcome the changes. He stressed the importance of acquiring skills across different departments to remain versatile and effective in various roles.

During the open forum session, several staff members raised concerns regarding working conditions. These included inadequate staffing, delays in salary payments, the need for additional office furniture, a dilapidated office environment, and the formalization of employment status to enable better remuneration.

Responding to the issues raised, the MCE pledged to collaborate with the Works Department to address critical infrastructural needs urgently. He also instructed the Human Resource Manager and the Finance Officer to ensure prompt salary payments.

Hon. Faidoo reiterated his commitment to addressing all concerns in collaboration with management. He, however, urged staff to reciprocate by being punctual, committed, and diligent in their work to boost overall productivity.
