The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Fredrick Faustinus Faidoo, has paid a visit to three Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) centres within the metropolis—Ahantaman Girls’ Senior High School, St. John’s School, and Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS). The purpose of the visit was to interact with and motivate students as they begin their exams.

At Ahantaman Girls’ SHS, Hon. Faidoo stated that his visit, along with his entourage, was intended to inspire confidence and provide moral support to the candidates. He urged the students to remain courageous, adhere strictly to examination instructions, and stay focused, emphasizing that doing so was key to achieving excellent results.

He further reiterated the commitment of education stakeholders in the metropolis, expressing their genuine interest in the academic success of the students. The MCE encouraged the candidates to put in their utmost effort and promised that the metropolis would be proud of their performance.

The Metropolitan Director of Education, Mr. Edmund Aggrey-Forson, who accompanied the MCE, expressed satisfaction with the calm and conducive environments observed at the centres. He noted that such an atmosphere would help the students write the exams without intimidation.

Mr. Aggrey-Forson disclosed that a total of 5,568 candidates—2,795 boys and 2,773 girls—were expected to take the exams across 18 examination centres in the metropolis. He expressed optimism that the serene settings would foster success and reflect positively on the dedication of both teachers and the Assembly.

At GSTS, it was also observed that students from the Armed Forces were each provided with bottled water at their tables—a gesture commended by the visiting team as a thoughtful way to keep the candidates comfortable and focused during the exams.
