The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) has held an exit conference for over 50 National Service Personnel posted to the Assembly in 2025 after completing their tertiary education to serve in various departments and units.

The conference was organised to appreciate the personnel for their contributions to the Assembly, review their experiences, and gather feedback to improve the training and management of future National Service Personnel.

In his welcome address, the Head of Human Resource, Mr Iddrisu Mumuni, said the gathering was an expression of the Assembly’s gratitude to the personnel and a celebration of their contributions during their tenure. He explained that the meeting also provided an opportunity for management to receive feedback on the personnel’s experiences to help strengthen the Assembly’s approach to managing and supporting future service personnel.

The Metro Coordinating Director, Mr Mohammed Alhassan Yakubu, congratulated the personnel on the successful completion of their service, commending them for their conduct throughout their period at the Assembly. He noted that there had been no reported cases of insubordination, indiscipline or theft among them.

Mr Yakubu urged the personnel to become worthy ambassadors of both the Assembly and themselves as they transitioned into the job market. He assured them of management’s readiness to serve as referees for those who might require professional references in their future career pursuits.

The Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon. Frederick K. Faidoo, expressed the Assembly’s appreciation to the personnel for accepting their postings to the Assembly and serving the people of Sekondi-Takoradi.

He assured them that the Assembly would not hesitate to employ or recommend personnel with good service records whenever opportunities arose. He further encouraged them to focus on their career goals and build their professional capacities, particularly in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their respective fields of profession.

Hon. Faidoo emphasised the importance of continuous learning and adapting to emerging technologies for professional growth and success in the evolving job market.

On behalf of the personnel, the STMA Local President of the National Service Personnel Bernard Bill Nyamekye Mensah expressed gratitude to the Assembly’s management for the opportunity to serve and for the support and cooperation extended to them throughout their service period.

The exit conference marked the conclusion of the personnel’s service at the Assembly and provided an opportunity for reflection, appreciation and guidance as they prepare to take up new professional opportunities and contribute to national development.
